October 26, 2010 – Fort Wayne. The Heartland Chamber Chorale invites you to celebrate the opera experience as Heartland Sings: Opera on Sunday, November 7 at 4 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church UCC. Tickets are available by calling 260.436.8080 or visiting online at www.HeartlandChorale.org.

“I am not a scholar of opera, I simply enjoy it. The final occasion of my life and death should be creative. I have asked Maestro Nance to create this concert, with the hope that Fort Wayne might add opera to the already impressive list of fine arts in the community,” stated Patricia McComb Wilson as she shared her final wishes. In the late spring of 2010, Pat lost her battle with cancer, but left a legacy of opera to the community. “One of the basic tenets of Opera is the celebration of all that life offers, including particularly love, passion, intrigue, irony, honor and death. This program endeavors to honor the memory of Pat Wilson, whose love of opera in many ways spoke of her own love of life and her passion for living it to its fullest,” says Maestro Robert Nance. The concert is underwritten by and dedicated to the memory of Pat Wilson, an opera lover and supporter of the Heartland Chamber Chorale opera programming.

A sneak peek into the program hints at Puccini, Menotti, Bizet, Verdi, Bernstein, Gershwin, Paulus and Weber. Guest soloists include soprano Denise Ritter and tenor Don Bernardini. It promises to be an evening of passion and song.
