April 30, 2009 – FORT WAYNE, IN. Join Heartland Chamber Chorale on Saturday, May 16 at 8PM and Sunday, May 17 at 4PM as they perform the music of great American Composers. HCC will sing favorite songs like Shenandoah, early American songs by William Billings, tunes from Broadway and other classics. The centerpiece of the program is the famous Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein, featuring harp, percussion and the spectacular concert organ at Plymouth Congregational Church. Heartland Sings: American Classics Experience the stellar voices of the Heartland Chamber Chorale, whose unique sounds have enriched audiences of Northeast Indiana for more than 12 years. Joining the Chorale in this performance are student choristers from area high schools who have auditioned to perform with the Chorale Side by Side, one of many educational outreach programs performed by the Chorale designed to give talented student singers a chance to gain professional performance experience. This program is made possible by HCC donors, the Lincoln Financial Group Foundation, and the Indiana Arts Commission. As this concert celebrates classics of the American choral tradition, in honor of Armed Forces Day the HCC invites all uniformed personnel to attend this concert free of admission.
