May Cabaret Fundraiser Rescheduled for July
Kishna Davis to headline European presentation of Porgy & Bess
May 9, 2008 – FORT WAYNE, IN. Heartland Chamber Chorale “Cabaret Americana” originally scheduled for May 19th at Vigneto has been rescheduled for Monday July 21, 2008 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Guest Artist Kishna Davis, who is the headliner for this event, had to reschedule due to rehearsals in New York that week for the role of Bess in an upcoming European tour of Gershwin’s opera, Porgy & Bess. “While we are sorry to have to postpone our event, what a great opportunity for our friend Ms. Davis,” says Artistic Director Robert Nance. “We are excited for her opportunity, and particularly enthusiastic about her coming to sing for us after this important debut. No doubt everyone in Fort Wayne will want to be at our Cabaret in July when this rising star will sing a rich array of American music, including most certainly a rendition of “Summertime.” Davis and Nance are schedule to record an album together this summer.
Tickets for the Cabaret Fundraiser at Vigneto are $50 per person, which includes one cocktail and American style hors d’oeuvres by Chef Lisa Williams. A portion of your ticket is tax-deductible. A small instrumental ensemble will perform throughout the evening, with live Karaoke available for the rising cabaret stars in the audience. Performances featuring Ms. Davis and Maestro Nance takes place at various intervals throughout the evening.
