Fort Wayne Jewish Federation commissions original work for 2008 Yom Hashoah Commemoration
New composition entitled Let us Remember by Robert Nance, director of the Heartland Chamber Chorale

March 5, 2008 – FORT WAYNE, IN. The Fort Wayne Jewish Federation announced today that Robert Nance, Artistic Director of Heartland Chamber Chorale has composed the setting for a poem by Fort Wayne native, Charlie Savage to be performed during the 2008 observance of Yom Hashoah here in Fort Wayne. Mr. Nance’s composition sets to music the words of a poem entitled “Let Us Remember” by Charlie Savage, winner of the Federation’s poetry contest. Mr. Savage is a Fort Wayne native, graduate of North Side High School and 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner.
The composition will be featuring on two programs commemorating Yom Hashoah:
April 27, 2008 @ 4 PM. The HCC Yom Hashoah Commemoration Concert at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church. The concert is sponsored by the Schneider Foundation and is free and open to the public.
May 1, 2008 @ 7 PM during the FWJF Yom Hashoah observance service at Temple Achduth Vesholom. This community event is free.
