October 4, 2007 – FORT WAYNE, IN. The story of Sister Angelica (portrayed by Kishna Davis) and the members of her convent (portrayed by the Women of Heartland Chamber Chorale) is Puccini’s tender portrait of a woman devoted to God yet eager for news of her family. Kishna Davis, a frequent guest artist in Fort Wayne, joins Heartland for its first opera production. The concert which begins at 4 pm, will be preceded by a lecture on Puccini’s motivation for the opera which is part of a trilogy of one-act operas known as Il Trittico. Betty Stein, newspaper columnist and educator, will be providing helpful background information to add to your enjoyment of the production at 3 pm in the sanctuary prior to the concert. This is beautiful music, easily accessible and emotionally satisfying
